About the event

Each year, on April 4th, the National Civil Rights Museum honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The museum extends an invitation to everyone to join in remembrance, in person or virtually. The event serves as a moment to reflect on the significant impact of Dr. King's work and the path that lies ahead in the pursuit of justice and equality. 


The event entitled Remembering MLK: The Man. The Movement. The Moment. will be held in the Museum’s courtyard at 5:00 pm Central. 


The commemoration includes tributes leading up to a moment of silence, marking the time of Dr. King's untimely death. The program features a keynote speaker whose address will echo Dr. King's dedication to nonviolent activism, special performances that convey the depth of the loss felt, fraternal tributes, and the changing of the balcony wreath at the Lorraine Motel. This annual event prompts attendees to contemplate Dr.…
